Herpetofauna database
A DOC administered database containing descriptive, observational and voucher material data of terrestrial reptiles, amphibians, marine reptiles and tuatara. Recorded on ARDS (Amphibian & Reptile Distriubution Scheme) cards forwarded to the database administrator.
Access can be requested via the DOC Extranet. For further information please contact the database administrator: Benno Kappers, bkappers@doc.govt.nz.
NZ Frog
Provides introductory material and describes the current research and conservation of frogs in New Zealand. Dr Phil Bishop of the University of Otago is the principal contact.

NZ Lizards
A partially restricted database that provides an interactive bibliographical search and link tool to the literature of lizards from 1769 to the present. A conservation toolkit and a series of in-depth species synopses will be available from 2009. This database was developed by Trent Bell, herpetologist at Landcare Research.

Society for Research on Amphibians and Reptiles in New Zealand
A national organisation of dedicated researchers and conservation-oriented people interested in the field of herpetology. SRARNZ consists of DOC personnel, scientists and academics at universities and at Landcare Research, university students and research technicians, and individuals affiliated to conservation organisations.

A national amateur organisation dedicated to the care and maintenance of herpetofauna in captivity. Members often contribute to captive management programmes of endangered species.
