There are three DOC conservation campsites available in the Southland area of Southland region.
There are three Great Walk conservation campsites on the Rakiura Track in the Southern Islands area.
There are no conservation campsites on the ecologically fragile subantarctic islands. You need a permit to visit the islands and you must be accompanied by a government representative.
