Guide dogs & disability assist dogs

You can take certified guide dogs and disability assist / mobility assistance dogs into controlled dog areas and you do not need a permit for any public conservation land.

This includes certified dogs under training.

Who certifies the dogs?

The Department of Internal Affairs authorises these organisations to certify disability assist dogs, the term now used for seeing-eye dogs, mobility assistance dogs, epilepsy assistance dogs etc.
